what this is
scrapmeback is a free, fan-made time capsule that recreates the feel of the orkut era: scraps, communities, testimonials and ratings. It is not orkut. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to orkut, its founder Orkut Büyükkökten, Hello Network, Inc. or Google. We use the word “orkut” only to describe the era we're remembering. If you're looking for the real orkut's comeback, its founder is collecting support at orkut.com.
who can join
- You must be 18 or older.
- One account per person, using your real identity. No bots, no fake or impersonation accounts.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. Keep your password to yourself.
your content
You own what you post. By posting it, you give us permission to store, display and share it on scrapmeback as needed to run the site, including showing public content to logged-out visitors and in link previews. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already shared or that we're required to keep. Only post things you have the right to post.
be the friend people remember
You agree not to post or do any of the following:
- harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or posting someone's private information;
- any sexual content involving minors. We have zero tolerance, and we report it to the authorities;
- nudity or sexual content, or intimate images of anyone shared without their consent;
- spam, scams, malware, or automated scraping and bulk data collection;
- impersonating a person or organization, including claiming to be the official orkut;
- anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights.
Ratings, fans and crushes are meant to be playful. Using them to make someone uncomfortable counts as harassment.
moderation
Use the report button on anything that breaks these rules. We may remove content, limit what an account can do, or close accounts that break these terms, with or without warning.
copyright complaints
If something on scrapmeback infringes your copyright, email hello@scrapmeback.com with the link, a description of your work, and your contact details. We'll take it down if the claim is valid.
no guarantees
scrapmeback is a hobby project, provided “as is” with no warranties. It may have bugs, lose data, change, or shut down. We'll try to give notice before shutting down. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.
leaving
You can leave any time. Email hello@scrapmeback.com to delete your account (see the privacy policy).
changes
We may update these terms. If we change them in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and tell you on the site. Continuing to use scrapmeback after that means you accept the new terms.
